About Ralph Guenther

Ralph Guenther’s practice concentrates on personal bankruptcy matters. He attended California State University, Northridge, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Finance in 1983, and received his legal education at the University of California, Davis, graduating with a Juris Doctor degree in 1986. He was admitted to the bar in 1986, and has more than 35 years of experience specializing in bankruptcy law through his firm Guenther Law Group.

Mr. Guenther is a member of the California State Bar and is admitted to practice before all of the federal courts in California. He has also served on the Bankruptcy Liaison Committee for the Northern District of California and is currently the Chairman of the Chapter 13 Committee for the San Jose Division.

Mr. Guenther has appeared in bankruptcy cases throughout California, as well as in Arizona and Texas. He has also argued appellate cases before the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Guenther lives on the Monterey Peninsula with his wife and family.

Attorney Ralph P. Guenther of Guenther Law Group has been appointed to serve on the Bench-Bar Liaison Committee for the United States Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of California, with a term extending through 2028.

The Bench-Bar Liaison Committee, formed under General Order No. 15, serves as a forum for bankruptcy professionals and judges of the Court to discuss the administration and operation of the Court and to solicit recommendations for continued improvement. Committee members are selected from respected bankruptcy professionals throughout Northern California and work collaboratively with the judiciary to support professionalism, communication, and efficiency within the bankruptcy system.

For more than 35 years, Guenther has served individuals, families, small businesses, agricultural workers, and employers throughout Salinas and the Central Coast, helping clients navigate financial hardship with compassion, professionalism, and practical legal guidance. Through Guenther Law Group, he has assisted thousands of Californians in restructuring debt, protecting assets, and rebuilding financial stability during some of the most difficult periods of their lives.

Known within the community for his approachable style and commitment to client education, Guenther has built a practice rooted in personal relationships, accessibility, and long-term trust.
